The Mamin & Zorea project focus on the production of high quality olive oil. The main variety of the project is cv. Arbequina, cv. Coratina, cv. Barnea and cv. Picual are also cultivated in this project.
The Mamin & Zorea project was established in 1997 and suffered from frost problems and the slow development of the plants. When I started to give consultancy to the project, the first task was to improve the ferti-irrigation management of the project. It took us a while before we managed to improve tree shape, tree appearance and more important tree productivity.
Today we are in the middle of a process of modernization and mechanization of harvest and pruning tasks. At the end of this process we will be able to manage the ferti-irrigation system through the internet using GPRS technology.
As in El Alto, I have managed to reduce water consumption by half, using irrigation methods that have being developed by COMMON-SENSOR sensors technologies and my personal experience.
